The amount of physical and mental effort that people put forth in their various jobs is enormous. As a result, the vast majority of people all over the world are susceptible to stress. Stress and tension are a part of everyone's daily lives. Workplace stress is becoming a growing source of concern for administrations today. Stress can be defined as a likely situation in which people face restrictions, opportunities, or the loss of something they desire, and for which importance is both random and critical, and in which people experience both random and critical feelings. People experience stress as a reaction to irrational pressure or difficulties that are placed on them. In order to reduce employee stress and improve his or her efficiency and health, the employer will implement a variety of measures that will improve his or her physical and mental abilities and attention span as well as self-esteem and overall efficiency (WHO, 2019). Specifically, the purpose of this study is to identify the factors that cause stress as well as the stress-management strategies that can be used to help employees perform their jobs more effectively. The purpose of this study is to examine the prevalence of stress among workers in Indian cottage industries. According to the findings of the study, stress in the workplace is caused by a high workload, a low salary, time constraints and deadlines, a lack of job security provided by the Cotton Mill, and the lack of coping strategies that can be implemented for stress management.
