Drawback of concrete is, weak in tension and brittle in nature. Without giving any signs, concrete will break due more external loads and hence it became major task to engineers to over come from this problem. Many researchers have worked and came up with different solutions among which fiber reinforced concrete is one technique. Different type of fibers is incorporated into the concrete to enhance its mechanical and durability properties. In the presentresearch, various fibers like steel fiber (SF), Galvanized iron fiber (GI), High density polyethylene fibers (HDPF), waste plastic fibers (WPF) and polypropylene fiber (PPF) have been utilized with application of super plasticizer of 1.5% by wt. of cement to enhance concrete properties in fresh and hardened state. Also, Glass fiber has been used to wrap around concrete specimen. Tests on hardened concrete compression test and tensile tests have been conducted with and without application of wrappings actions. From test results it is observed that, application of 1% SF and 0.5% SF+0.5% GI gave better mechanical properties with and without application of glass fiber wrappingss. ER -
