A Case Study of Tourists’ Perception of Museum Tourism

Abstract

With the advent of mass tourism and the upgrading of public demand for museums, museums are gradually becoming deep and high-quality tourism resources, making tourism activities from general sightseeing to recreational activities with high cultural content. Museum tourism has become a new form of tourism. This paper intends to have further exploration about the classification and function of tourists’ perception, and to observe the relationship between the generation of meaning and the optimization of the modality of media of museum landscape, and to evaluate tourists’ perception through questionnaires and interview methodology in a case study in Luoyang Museum, in Henan, China. It elucidates the issues of museum landscape, further exploration, and preservation from the semiotic aspect
