Abstract

Using activated carbon to treat phenolic waste-water can highly efficiently remove phenol in waste-water. In this study,we examed the major influencing factors involved in phenol removal, such as the dosage of activated carbon, adsorption time of activated carbon to phenol and pH value. The results show the favorable dosage of activated carbon is 100mL 2g-5g, the optimal adsorption time is 50 minutes, and the pH range of 4-8 is most suitable for a high adsorption removal rate to phenol which is above 96%.
