Abstract

Rocket motor casing is the most important part of the rocket. It is made up of composite material such as carbon fiber or carbon epoxy. The rocket motor casing is a pressure vessel. The rocket motor is basically designed for pressure loads, the vibrations developed by the transportation need to be minimized.

The transportation fixtures used to transport the rocket motor casing from one place to another place. Which consisting of various components such as saddles, wire rope isolators, end fixtures and flat bed. The work is carried out by two stages. In first stage, design the model and all components are assembled to it. In second stage is vibrations analysis of the setup. While transporting the casing the vibrations will occur due to road condition and vehicle speed. Which may cause damage to the casing. The total weight of the component is carried by the lower bed.

This paper describes, design, modelling and random vibration analysis of transportation setup are studied and vibration frequency value is configured with minimum suitable range on rocket motor boundary conditions and load conditions. The setup is modelled and vibration analysis is carried out by SolidWorks and solid works simulation.
