Abstract

This paper discusses the effect of thermal gradient and taper constant with different types of boundary conditions on the vibration of a non-homogeneous triangular plate. Here, temperature variation in a triangular plate is supposed to be bilinear (both x and y direction), and tapering in the plate material is considered bilinear. To calculate the first two modes of frequency parameter for several values of taper parameter and thermal gradient, the author used the Rayleigh-Ritz technique. The author reported the frequency for both vibration modes for different types of simply supported triangular plates. Results are presented in tabular form.
