Abstract

IoT systems are now extensively employed in a variety of industries, including health, manufacturing, and others, and they make life simpler by automating various chores. As a result, it grew popular, resulting in the production of a significant number of IoT devices. Different protocols, like as MQTT, COAP, and HTTP, are now available for communication between these devices. Each procedure has advantages and disadvantages.MQTT has become one of the most common protocols among them since its qualities are ideal for most IoT systems, but it also has certain drawbacks, such as less security, complex security mechanisms, no message priority feature, overloading, and so on. Different protocols are compared to MQTT in this study, as well as the design, benefits, and limits of MQTT. As the MQTT protocol is most widely used protocol there is need to provide security to it in the protocol level only. The proposed secured MQTT protocol is illustrated in this paper. The proposed MQTT protocol is also compared with conventional MQTT protocol on the basis of time and space complexity.
