Abstract

Nowadays power quality improvement is the major research topic from last 20 years in the electrical distribution system. This is because of non-linear loads observe the reactive power due these harmonics produce in the system. In this paper to over the harmonic’s filters are used to produce the opposite harmonics of same magnitude for compensation, thus THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) will reduce. As the reduction in harmonic distortion can improves the power factor and performance of the components. MATLAB /SIMLINK power system tool box is used to simulate active power filter controller. The simulation results will confirm the effectiveness of the system.
