The Behavior of Floating Construction on Soft Ground
Soft soil has many problems in construction development. Especially on soft soil that is always submerged in water. One of them is the construction of roads on soft soil. The solution offered in this research is a breakthrough by combining geofoam as a raft pile foundation cushion, by utilizing hydrostatic power to increase the bearing capacity of the soil. Through experimental methods in the laboratory, in the experimental box by providing a static load between 0 to 20 kN, it shows that it can minimize the decrease and increase the carrying capacity of the construction. The results show that the thicker the geofoam and the higher the water level the smaller the decrease.
