Abstract

Researches have explored the willingness of migrants to move. Few studies examined the factors affecting their continuance intention to settle down. This study hypothesized a conceptual model by integrating the expectation-confirmation model (ECM), the theory of planned behavior (TPB), and perceived risk theory to explore the ecological migrants’ continuance intention to settle down. Based on the analysis and test of 352 valid questionnaires by the structural equation model, the results show that the integrated theoretical model has a high explanatory power with R2 of 72% for the continuance settlement intention of ecological migrants. Settlement satisfaction is the most significant effect on continuance settlement intention of ecological migrants, and the settlement usefulness, settlement attitude, perceived risk, settlement behavior control followed weaker, while settlement subject norm has no significant direct impact on it. Current study will not only give the related government agencies a strong insight of policy adjustment to guarantee the sustainable development of ecological migrations, but also broaden the idea of the future ecological migration theory research globally.
