Traits, Growth Influence Mechanism and Cultivation Strategies of New Farmers

Abstract

New farmers constitute the main body of new rural construction and agricultural modernization. The growth of new farmers is based on such traits as the awareness of learning cooperation, pro-activity and risk control, which the general farmers do not have. The growth of new farmers have been influenced by farmers’ growth traits, market environment, technology environment, institutional environment and policy environment. Among them, the growth traits play the most important role in cultivating new farmers, then, in turn, is the institutional environment, technology environment, market environment and policy environment. In addition the external environment also has certain influence on the formation of farmers ’own traits. Accordingly, in terms of cultivation of new farmers, we should attach great importance to the cultivation of growth traits of farmers; second, we must give full play to the influence of agricultural management environment on nurturing farmers’ growth traits; third, we need to reform agricultural management system and give full play to the influence of changes in the environment and leading the new farmers’ growth.
