Synthesis and Characterization of Tetraaza Macrocyclic Ligand and its Cu (II) Complex
Abstract
In the study, macrocyclic complexes were synthesized by template condensation of 1, 1, 2, 2-tetrachloroethane with 1, 3-diaminopropane in presence of copper (II). Complex is characterized by chemical, physical measurement, Solubility, Conductivity, Infra-red, Nuclear magnetic resonance, mass and electronic spectral studies. Based on above analysis data, it may be written as [M (L) Cl2] (where M = Cu (II). Spectral studies suggested that copper shows tetra coordinated state and square planner geometry. Conductivity data of complex shows its electrolytic nature. Based on molar conductance, physical and chemical data, the formula of the complex has been determined. Macrocyclic complex of Cu (II) has been used as catalyst in different industries, also used in drug development and discovery processes.
