Abstract

In this paper, the free space optical (FSO) communication system is analyzed for very clear weather condition using various types of waveform formats. The source used for the system is continuous wave (CW) Laser and at the receiver end, PIN photodetector is used to investigate the system for various bands of wavelength with a data rate of 6.5 Gbps and fixed distance of 1 km is used to measure the maximum Quality Factor and minimum Bit Error Rate. The very clear weather condition is indicated in form of attenuation, which is measured in dB/Km that influences the FSO transmission from source to destination. It is investigated that on using various formats the saw-down format gives better Q-Factor and minimum BER rate in different bands of optical wavelength. The wavelengths from different optical bands along with different waveform formats influences the FSO communication system that is discussed in this paper below. The power (mW) of Laser for different wavelengths is kept minimum i.e. 1 mW to avoid any additional loss. The FSO communication system shows good result with minimum power in very clear weather condition.
