Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effects of aerobic exercise intervention on bone and cardiovascular functions of middle-aged women in ethnic minority areas. Methods: In the 16 weeks of aerobic exercise training, changes of the subjects' bone and cardiovascular function indexes were tested before and after the experiment. Results: The subjects’ number of abnormalities and average number of abnormalities were reduced by 1.37 and 0.03 "+" respectively after the experiment, showing significant difference (P<0.05). Osteoclast coefficient, calcium loss, bone density, cervical spine calcification, lumbar spine calcification, hyperostosis coefficient, osteocalcin, ligament obsolescence, blood lipids, vascular resistance, blood concentration, cholesterol, and neutral fat decreased by 0.87, 0.06, 0.02, 2.12, 0.07, 0.21, 0.01, 0.09, 0.05, 0.12, 0.06, 0.13 and 0.18, respectively, among which, ligament obsolescence showed significant difference before and after the experiment (P<0.05), while there was no significant difference in the others (P>0.05). Osteoporosis coefficient, bone-derived alkaline phosphatase, vascular elasticity, high density lipoprotein, and low density lipoprotein increased by 0.09, 0.01, 0.19, 0.07, and 0.05, respectively, among which, vascular elasticity showed significant difference before and after the experiment (P<0.05), while there was no significant difference in the others (P>0.05). Conclusion: The 16-week aerobic exercise intervention can prevent calcium loss and premature bone calcification, improve ligament function, but it cannot significantly alleviate osteoporosis of middle-aged women. Also, capable of significantly improving subjects’ vascular elasticity, it can reduce blood lipids, vascular resistance, and improve blood concentration, though the effect is not very obvious.
