The Path Research of improving Ocean Discourse Power

Abstract

The ocean is an important natural field for the development of human society and a social space where the interests of all countries in the world intersect. In the world, competition involving maritime rights and interests is becoming increasingly fierce. The weight gained by the right to speak in the ocean has become a guide for the formulation and implementation of national ocean strategies, which will determine the pattern, direction and effects of global ocean competition. It is essential for safeguarding the country’s maritime rights and interests, shaping the country’s maritime image and boosting the country’s maritime strategy. This paper analyzes the shortcomings in the construction of China’s maritime discourse power, and proposes strategies to promote maritime discourse power, such as promoting the values of a community of marine destiny, creating world-class media, and diversifying communication channels.
