Abstract

Stability is the key aspect of the power system while transmitting and distributing the power to the consumer premises. FACTS devices play a major role in a power system to improve stability. There are different types of FACT devices are available for improving the stability of the power system. This Paper presents improving the stability of the nine-bus power system in terms of Harmonics by using one of the FACTS device static synchronous series compensators (SSSC). This proposed system was simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK software. Here, Harmonics of nonlinear load are estimated and compared with harmonics of this same nine bus system without SSSC.
