Analysis of Birefringence and Losses in Photonic Crystal Fibre
Abstract
The design analysis of photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is described by finite difference time domain method (FDTD).We calculated an effective refractive index with real and imaginary parts for fundamental modes in different PCF structures.This proposed work is an optimized model of PCF with zero confinement loss (-0.01db/km) in a wide range of wavelengths and optimized dispersion and birefringence. In this typical modified design, the arrangement of air hole in a rectangular structure withdifferent air hole diameters in a hexagonal manner is analyzed.
