Abstract

This study investigated the performance and characterization of “Noor City Wastewater Treatment Plant”. Conventional description study that was taken through 1 year, were utilized and analyzed like COD, BOD, TSS, SO4, PO4, NO2, NO3, CL, NH3, H2S, Alkalinity and oil and grease parameters and investigate the efficiency of remove to BOD, COD, TSS, PO4, CL, O&G. The efficiency of remove to BOD, COD, TSS, PO4, CL, O&G in the plant was 91%, 82.8%, 83.5%, 64.7%, 7.4%, 67.4% from 7 Jun to 16 Dec 2018. The experimental results indicated that the period from January to March show the best removal efficiency of COD. Also, indicated that suddenly changing of concentrations in influent had an adverse decrease the efficiency of biological systems. Finding may back to cumulating of high parameters concentrations that lead to inhibit microorganism activities when all nutrients were low in the wastewater that wanted to microorganism's growth. The effluent characteristics from Noor City Wastewater Treatment Plant (NCWWTP) were less than those allowed to be discharged on system of sewer and to use for irrigations purpose (based on its characteristics).
