Abstract

This paper focusses on design, development, testing and analysis of Single PEM fuel cell. The single fuel cell assembly of membrane electrode assembly (MEA)size of 25 cm2has been selected for the design and development. The components of fuel cell havebeen fabricated in collaboration with Sainergy India Private limited Chennai. The testing and analysis includingactivation test, dynamic test and static test were carried out for single cycleas well as number of cycles at ambient pressure and  room temperature of fuel cell and also increase in temperature of  fuel cell  to check the behaviour of PEM fuel cell in terms of input parameters such as pressure of oxygen gas and air, pressure of hydrogen gas, mass flow rate of hydrogen, mass flow rate of oxygen,  temperature of fuel cell, temperature of humidifiers  on oxygen as well as hydrogen side and output responses such as voltage, current, power output, current density and power density. All data recorded through data acquisition system software.
