Photonic Crystal based Rhombic Ring Resonator for Pressure Sensing
Abstract
A rhombic resonator for pressure sensing application using photonic crystal is designed.The designcomprisesa rhombic resonator in between the two waveguides.The shifting of resonant wavelength to larger wavelengths with an increase in pressure is revealed in the results. The functional parameters such as sensitivity andQ-factorare evaluated for the pressure range of 0GPa to 5GPa. The proposed structure has a sensitivity of 217.4nm/GPa and a Q-factor of 11022.Theplane wave expansion (PWE) method is used to find the photonic bandgapand simulation is performed using OptiFDTD.
