Analysis of Financial Health of Banking Industry: Indian & ASEAN Countries’ Perspective

Abstract

One of the most crucial sectors propelling the growth of Indian & ASEAN countries is banking.  It is also one of the most prevailing segments of the Financial sector. Bank help individuals and companies to reserve funds. They also support economic process by dispensing investments which have a potential to get better yields in future. This paper is an effort to identify the Financial Health of banking system with the help of Altman’s Z-score model on 7 banks ranging Across various public & private banks in India & 3 Singapore Banks and for a period of 5 years from 2015-2019. It reflects a company’s probability of bankruptcy i.e. Z-score and thus the probabilistic approach of predicting bankruptcy.
