Methods for Elimination of Defects on the Surface of Parts in the Stamping Process

Abstract

In modern machine-building production, one of the main problems solved in the manufacture of parts for various purposes is to ensure the high quality of their working surfaces. Among the various technological methods of finishing, strengthening methods are widely used. One of the most frequently used methods at present is surface plastic deformation (SPD). The PPD method is easy to implement, economical, efficient, provides the formation of low roughness, a given depth and degree of hardening, as well as residual stresses, fine-grained structure and other indicators of the quality of the surface layer of processed parts.In modern machine-building production, one of the main problems solved in the manufacture of parts for various purposes is to ensure the high quality of their working surfaces. The PPD method is easy to implement, economical, efficient, provides the formation of low roughness, a given depth and degree of hardening, as well as residual stresses, fine-grained structure and other indicators of the quality of the surface layer of processed parts.Through the efforts of many scientists, both in Russia and abroad, a significant contribution has been made to the development of PPD.The main research is aimed at studying the force of the working fluid on the surface to be treated, the geometric parameters of the deformation zone, the distribution of stresses over the contact area and in the surface layer, temperature fields and their effect on the surface quality, the conditions for creating residual stresses and the depth of hardening, surface microgeometry, processing accuracy. As a result, significant advances have been made in this area, allowing to solve many production problems.
