Abstract

In the world, one of the most urgent today is the problem of processing, utilization and disposal of oil sludge accumulated in storage pits of oil producing and oil refining enterprises. Significant environmental pollution occurs from oil spills, waste water discharge, incineration or disposal of oil waste. Oil sludge is formed in the process of oil extraction and processing, as well as wastewater treatment, which contains oil impurities in the form of suspensions, emulsions and sludge at treatment facilities. The accumulation of sludge, due to the spill of oil raw materials and oil products, leads to pollution of the soil and vegetation cover, soil erosion, desertification and, as a consequence, to a decrease in the land fund and its simplification, as well as local deterioration of ecosystems. The oil sludge formed during the processing of hydrocarbon raw materials is a waste product, the development of an integrated technology for their processing is an urgent problem.
