Abstract

The accurate estimation of mobile station location has been attracting interest due to the ever increasing of location-based services applications in emergency commercial, and security purposes. This paper has been studied the Radio Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) received from a many number of near base stations. The RSSI implement for Log-distance model propagation and Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) model to increased accuracy of estimate mobile positioning. This paper used real data obtained from field has been measured and collected and made compensation between practical and estimation positioning that gives the required accuracy.

As a case study, an urban area at the city of Baghdad that serviced by ZAIN cellular network was chosen to discovery the position of a mobile. The MATLAB 2019-a program has been used to calculate and implement the results.
