A Survey of Literature on Power Quality Improvement in Smart Grid
Abstract
Power quality is an important phenomena related to smart grid. Power quality is also an elaborate and complex subject requiring specific phraseology in order to properly describe conditions and concern. A sufficient or ample power quality promises the necessary compatibility between all equipment connected to the grid. So, it is a predominant issue for the victorious and systematic operation of future smart grid. Smart grid gives us huge opportunity to monitor, measure and analyze power quality. Smart grid also provides Distributed Management System (DMS) for the power quality analysis. By monitoring and analyzing the real time information properly with the help of smart meters, we can easily decrease the power quality issues in smart grid in a satisfactory manner; thereby we can ensure quality and reliable power supply. This paper gives a overall review of power quality issues related to smart grid.
