Modeling and Position Control of the Switched Reluctance Planar Motor
Abstract
In this paper, a theoretical study on driving the Switched Reluctance Planar Motor (SRPM) is proposed. A simulation environment of the SRPM drive combining the features of POWERSYS and SIMULINK is developed in this work. Because of the non-linear magnetic structure of the SRPMs, traditional PID controllers are insufficient in SRPM control, thus a closed-loop motor position control system based on Proportion Derivative (PD)-like fuzzy and Integral (I) controller to obtain the optimum characteristics of operation for these motors will be used.
