Abstract

This study was conducted to build a model for generating trips expected for the Al-Salaam Sector by knowing the social-economic characteristics and employment data; Because of increasing annual population growth, employment and car ownership making the daily activities constitute an increasing burden day after day so that will make necessary to know number and causes of these trips. The study area was divided into four sectors according to land use. A questionnaire form was designed and distributed to homes and home interviews were also conducted to collect data. The trip generation model was built by using multiple linear regression /Stepwise methods by the SPSS.20software. the results showed there is a statistically significant relationship between the number of production trips and gender, number of workers, number of students, number of cars and age group as The coefficient of determination (R²) = 0.802, this is considered a good prediction model. The trip attraction model was obtained depending on land use characteristics such as places of education, work, etc. The results showed that attraction trips depend mainly on students and workers, as the (R²) = 0.971 is considered a good prediction model.
