Abstract

- In this paper Robust flame detection using edge driven gradient and control unit for fire detection is proposed. Fire is an abnormal event that causes significant damage to the lives and property. In Forest it is very difficult to detect the fire. Detecting the occurrence of fire in early stages helps in reducing the lives and property loss. So we proposed two methodologies for fire detection. Vison based system and sensing from hardware input.

Hardware detects the flames by detecting smoke and sends message notifications. This system is useful in early flame detection and used to detect the small fires. Vision based input monitors the forest environment. If any fire is detected in the video input respective message notification is sent indicating forest fire. This vision based system is achieved by using matlab.
