Abstract

Food is an essential component required by all living organisms, but to lead a healthy life that food should be rich in vitamins, minerals and other components. To lead a healthy life, one should consume good hygienic fruits and vegetables, but in present scenario fruits what we consume daily like bananas, mangoes, grapes, and oranges are being imposed on certain chemicals like calcium carbide, acetylene, ethylene for ripening purpose. Among this calcium carbide is the most commonly used ripening agent which is also known as carcinogen. This regular consumption causes discomfort and health issues like cancer, diarrhea, blood vomiting, thirst, body weakness, burning in eyes and so on.
