Abstract

The Sino-Russian International Logistics Corridor plays an important role in the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. There are so many multimodal container transport channels between China and Russia that carriers are difficult to choose the best route. It is becoming increasingly important to find transportation solutions that are economical, fast, and less polluting. This paper establishes a Sino-Russian international container multimodal transport route optimization and transportation mode selection model with time windows based on transportation costs, time penalty costs, and environmental pollution costs. The model solution method is proposed based on genetic algorithm and the Matlab platform. The corresponding solving program is designed. The example is taken from Harbin in Heilongjiang province to Russia to obtain the transportation routes and transportation modes of key urban nodes. The results show that the method is effective and can provide a basis for the optimization of Sino-Russian international container multimodal transport routes.
