Lean Manufacturing Tools Effectiveness in Small and Medium Scale Enterprise (SMES)

Abstract

The objective of this study is to discuss the lean implementation process and its quantified benefits with the help of value stream mapping (VSM) and 5’S lean tools.VSM techniques are used to discuss both the current and prospective state maps of the organization's shop floor in order to highlight improvement areas and bridge the gap between the current and planned state maps of the selected industries' shop floors.
