Optimum Design of Cables Diameters of Cable-Stayed Bridge Subjected to Seismic Loading
Abstract
This paper describes a method for choosing the optimum design for a cable-stayed bridge by using the diameters of the cables as the design variable. A seismic design was carried out for seismic loading, and the results of Response Spectrum Analysis were employed in the optimization. A Multiobjective Genetic Algorithm optimization was used to determine the optimum cable diameter. The displacements of the pylon's top point in three directions were the optimization's objective function.
