Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility is a way through which Corporates can give back to the society. It is also process of sharing the goodwill with the society. CSR is also a tool of creating responsible pro-social brand image of a firm.

However, along with size CSR spending what matters is its reporting. CSR reporting is also a part of legal compliance as set by the government of India. To meet such compliance requirements, a proper committee determining and looking after proper CSR spending on activities is needed alongside its implementation, reporting and auditing.

Present research work is an attempt to evaluate the process of reporting of CSR spending by all the five Urban Cooperative Banks having origin and Head offices in the Thane district of Maharashtra.
