Practical Research on Constructing a Strong Financial City in Special Economic Zone

Abstract

Xiamen is one of the earliest four major special economic zones established in China, and has been successively approved as a free trade pilot zone, independent innovation demonstration zone, and maritime silk road core zone. How to give full play to the advantages of multi-district superposition, continue to do first and try first, and play a leading role in demonstration in the whole province and the whole country is a major issue facing us. This paper is focusing on studying and collecting the existing financial policy system and the cross-strait financial service mechanism foundation of Xiamen City to find out the imperfections and gaps, and provides a research basis for financial reform and innovation. Combined with the advantages of multiple areas, it draws lessons from the experience of advanced financial center cities, and suggest ways around the construction of a strong financial city and a city of financial technology mechanism.
