The Influence of Structure Heterogeneity on Robustness in Regional Innovation Networks
Abstract
Structure heterogeneity in regional innovation networks manifests complexity and diversity of
knowledge diffusion and collaborative R&D relationship. In this paper, the network model
based on multiple systems generating functions mathematical algorithm was built for analyzing
the robustness of interacting networks under different link patterns. The percolation threshold
was illustrated in two different levels that state of subcritical and supercritical. Then the
algorithm is tested both on the simulated networks and the real-world networks. These results
of the simulation study demonstrate that the pivotal role of the linking between sub networks
and the moderate degree protection strategy.
