Abstract

Composite pipe was commonly used in many chemical processes in the petrochemical and pulp and paper industries to convey corrosive fluid suction. Many composite pipe designers currently use conventional metallic pipe standards which do not take the anisotropic nature of composite materials into account.Generally composite pipes replace copper, steel, pvc pipe for hot and cold water piping.  In this study an analytical model was developed for buckling of orthotropic composite pipe under external pressure. This pipeline is subjected to two equal and opposite axial pushes then the stress induced at different sections of the body is plotted. It is observed That because of the compressive load the length of the body will decrease and the cross-sectional area of the material will increase as the lateral dimensions change.
