Abstract

Power management is a major role in mobile adhoc network from which are relayed on wireless transmission. Due to power management difficulties the MANET is not replacing the Wired network. There are many attacks in the MANET, one of which is power failure attackers, those are attackers who are trying to send only route request and route reply messages in countless which makes the other nodes to forward to the neighbors, this causes the power used for this type of transmission will be lead to dead. Ultimately, this nodes could not able to participate in the further transmission. This proposed work is aimed to identify the power failure attackers, by computing the duplicate packet transmission count. The most transmission of dummy packets is identified and find out the origin node which is called as a power failure attacker node. This proposed work is implemented in Directional Advanced intruder Handler AODV protocol using the network simulatorwith 100 nodes, the output of the protocol shows that this is better than existing protocol. The added feature of this paper is MANET is designed  directional antennas to provide more efficient in power management.
