Abstract

Robots have been used in many production firms and their use is significantly increasing. On the other hand robot manufacturer are also introducing new robots with different capabilities and features. Due to technological advancement in the field of robotics, in the last decade, selecting an optimum robot that suits the requirement for a specific task in industry is becoming very complex. Robots introduced in the last decade came up with several capabilities, features and advantages over the robots that were introduced earlier. The decision makers have to identify best suited robot for their industrial use with minimum cost. In this research work an attempt has been made to identify best robot by considering subjective weightage as well as objective weightage of the attributes that plays important part in our application. A MEREC is used to give objective weightage and AHP for subjective weightage. Taking an example of pick and place robots the methodology is examined on delta robots and compared with Line graph.
