Abstract

This paper studies behavior of short rectangular concrete columns reinforced with basalt rebars under uniaxial bending load. The equations of the Interaction diagrams for this column boundaries at eccentric loading are mathematically derived and evaluated. Then the equations are used to plot the required interaction diagram which represent actual failure envelopes of eccentrically loaded Basalt fibers reinforced polymers (BFRP) columns. A fraction of the different eccentricities to the width of the sections (e/h) are started from zero ecstaticity to infinity were considered with constated yield stress of basalt rebar at 1000Mpa, 430Mpa in tensile, compression respectively, with compressive strength of normal concrete started from 20Mpa to 52Mpa at 4Mpa increase steps. The results are significantly lesser than the corresponding failure envelopes of ordinary reinforced concrete columns, because being influenced by the elasticity of a basalt rebar. The ACI code is not evaluated pure axial compression value in RC column exactly.
