Abstract

SEM studies the corrosion behavior of critical phases. In the present paper, the corrosion behavior of Al-Zn-Mg alloy reinforced with zirconium diboride particles in NaCl solution was investigated systematically to determine the performance of zirconium diboride (ZrB2) particulates reinforced with 5%, 10%, and 15 % weight fractions in Al-Zn-Mg. By using the potentiodynamic polarization test the casted specimens were tested for pitting corrosion. The average corrosion rate for multiple years and corrosion rate was calculated and reported.
