Abstract

Crude oil is the primary source of energy on the planet, The large amount of oily sludge are  generated from Baiji oil refineries around 3000-3500 m3 /years these quantities can be used to generate part of the electrical energy needed by refineries unit. The aim of the present work is to treat oily sludge by Denver flotation cell in order to recovery crude oil. Different surfactant and solvent type used in this work: kerosene, gasoline, light naphtha, and n-hexane as solvent and SDBS and SLES as surfactant. The results show that SDBS gives crude oil recovery of 71.8%at 20 min and pH= 4. Meanwhile, when SLES was used gives 60.3% at 20 min and pH= 4.
