Abstract

This article describes a compact UWB patch antenna with dual-band notched characteristics for WiMAX and WLAN wireless communication. Wire antenna with parasitic ground plane and slotted radiator patch was constructed. The parasitic strip on the underside of the radiating patch provides band rejection for WLAN between 5.1 and 5.8 GHz, while the slot in the radiator patch provides band rejection for Wi-Max between 3.3 and 3.7 GHz The suggested dual band-notched ultra-wideband antenna structure is tested at 5.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz. The suggested antenna's dimensions have all been optimized for maximum performance. The antenna's impedance bandwidth, surface current distribution, maximum gain, radiation efficiency, and radiation pattern were all analyzed. The antenna's modeling results indicate it can support UWB services.
