Abstract

Online signature is a biometric identity of a person and used at various platforms such as banks and government offices to uniquely identify a person. Online signature is taken using digital devices such as mobile or tablet either using stylus or finger. Although online signature makes the process of verification more efficient, but still some problems exist. Online signature can be forged, error exists in matching the query signature with the reference signature during verification. Intruder can access the stored signature and can misused it. Security of the stored online signature is equally important as verifying the signature against forgery. We need to secured our biometric signature by encrypting it with various methods available to us. Cancelable encryption plays an important role securing the biometric entities due to its nature of revocability and non-invertibility. In this paper, we are presenting the signature verification scheme, issues faced in online signature and methods to secure the signature from intruders.
