Research on Design Principles of Visual Signage in Campus Environment

Abstract

The campus visual signage design has the function of providing users with more comfortable and convenient life and improving the campus visual environment. However, nowadays, there are some problems in campus visual signage, such as low quality, confusion of visual composition, lack of aesthetic feeling and so on. The main reason for these problems is the lack of unified design principles. Therefore, according to the current situation of campus environment visual signage, this study analyzes the main problems, and combines a large number of practical design cases, summarizes the characteristics of signage design, and attempts to explore the key points of campus signage design from the perspective of users. Through understanding users' opinions on the use of campus visual signage, this paper studies how to adapt the design of visual signage to the campus environment. Finally, combining with the campus culture, from the management level, the configuration level and the visual composition level, the design principle of the campus visual sign is further proposed, which provides a reference for the design of the campus visual signage.
