A note in the Applications of Fuzzy Control Charts – A Statistical Review
Abstract
Fuzzy control charts are derived for the fuzzy measurements of the related quality characteristic. They are used to increase the accuracy of Principal Component Analysis by determining whether or not the process is in statistical control. Quality control plays a vital role in increasing the product quality. Control charts are one of the most powerful tools in Statistical process control for measuring and improving product quality and productivity. The control chart is a tool which is used for monitoring the manufacturing process. The deviation from the process target can easily be found using control charts. When the data available is vague, it is not suitable to detect process shift using control charts. In these case fuzzy numbers and linguistic variables are used to identify such uncertainties. Usually fuzzy control charts tend to be more sensitive than Shewhart control chart. The correct procedure of using the fuzzy control chart led to producing better quality products. This paper explores the applications of fuzzy control charts in the various fields like food industry, medicine, tourism industry, textile industry and agricultural fields.
