A Review on Mechanical Behavior of Short Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composites and Its Applications
Abstract
Short fiber strengthened compound composites with superior strength, straightforward to fabricate and, their cost is low compares with neat compound resins then they're majorly employed in several styles of applications. Reinforcement (short fiber) employed in the compound is either natural (or) artificial. Man-made fiber like carbon, glass (E-glass, S-Glass, D-Glass, A-Glass, ECR-Glass, ultrapure silicon oxide fibers, hollow fibers, and trilobalfibers), etc, are higher price of production thus their application is in restricted fields. Although they need high specific strength. This review aims to debate the mechanical properties earned by the composite when short fiber reinforcement and also the numerous factors moving the mechanical properties of the short fiber composites. It conjointly focuses on the relevance of fibers as a substitute for artificial fibers in the giant domain of application.
