Abstract

The rapid development of technology and the spread of Internet-based devices have made the Internet of Things (IoT) one of the most important computer disciplines. The IoT ecosystem is rapidly changing standards, technologies and platforms. The internet of things connects heterogeneous devices that enable sensing, control, operation and monitoring activities through heterogeneous interoperability in smarter environments. Smart IoT devices or items are granted a single identification to transport data over the network without human involvement. Orthogonal Multiplexing Frequency Division (OFDM) is a multi-carrier digital modulation technique which extends the idea of single carrier modulation using multiple subcarriers within one single channel. The aim of this work is to assess heterogeneous interoperability in the IoT architectures in order to handle various security issues with the OFDM approaches. The objectives included the investigation of several existing IoT Architecture heterogeneous interoperability solutions, and the existing IoT architecture OFDM approaches for heterogeneous interoperability. Finally, the safety considerations will also be examined when addressing heterogeneous IoT architectural interoperability by applying OFDM techniques.
