Analysis of the Effect of GEO Satellite Motion on TWSTFT

Abstract

The satellite motion is an important factor to affect the precision of TWSTFT, the results of effect includes: the diurnal fluctuation of Sagnac effect and satellite motion can result that the uplink geometry paths and the downlink geometry paths are asymmetric and which causes the time delay’s error of the geometric path. Limited by domestic satellite resource, the small angle satellite whose motion is greater is used as repeater satellite in the TWSTFT. Based on the standard and the small angle GEO satellite via C band, the data of link is analyzed and compared in this paper, the results are the former time accuracy is 0.2-0.3ns and the latter time accuracy is 0.3-0.5ns, and the time difference stability of the latter is lower than the former in two days. Therefore, it shows the motion of the small angle GEO satellite has bigger influence to the high-precision time comparison and can achieve the higher-precision time comparison in the short baseline via C band in the TWSTFT, these results from preliminary research may be provide some references for TWSTFT using more satellite resource.
