Impact of Traditions on Indian Contemporary Art

Abstract

India is one of the popular country for its traditions all over the world which showcase different art forms and mediums. Tradition is a very huge concept. Art, religion, culture, heritage everything includes in it.

Traditions of any Nation or State are influenced by monarchy, geographical border, culture, heritage, festival, language, literature, food and many more. Many of the traditions are related to nature also.

Contemporary art is the art of present. It was produced in the second half of the 20th century or in the 21st century. Indian traditions are always inspiring contemporary artists to celebrate the creativity. They work in a globally influenced, culturally diverse and technologically advancing world. Indian contemporary art has a different impression in the international art world. Apart from traditional mediums contemporary art includes new media and trend such as installation art, video art, feminist art, land art ,body art etc.
