Abstract

Sustainable or green concepts in the construction industry have significantly changed how owners, and contractors conduct their business. As green concepts gaining more attention in recent years, there is a growing body of evidence indicating the negative impact of these concepts on workers' health and safety. This situation encouraged researchers to propose new strategies to improve health and safety performance during construction, however, the effectiveness of these strategies is still questioned. In the first step, this study aims to review the literature to examine the impacts of green concepts on construction health and safety. Secondly, the study will review the improvement attempts and discuss their effectiveness in the light of defined impacts. The findings showed there is a need to integrate OHS considerations in the early stages of green projects. The study suggests integrating additional measures to improve safety and health performance during construction.
